2007 Off-Road 1:6 Competitionsystem / Rules ORCD d.d. 4 januari 2007 rev.1
A competition excists of qualification-heats (at least 2) and separate (sub-)finals. A heat or (sub-)final is driven by 10 drivers maximum. The best qualification heat-results of each driver will affect the dividing in the (sub-)finals according to a so called “x-mas-tree-system”.
There will not be direct placed drivers for the big final. From the qualification-heats untill the ¼-finals the first 3 fastest drivers of each heat continue to the next heat. From the semi-finals the first 5 fastest drivers of each semi-final will continue to the big final.
Driving time (under reservation). Qualification heats : 8 minutes Finals to 1/8 : 8 minutes 1/8 finals : 10 minutes 1/4 finals : 15 minutes 1/2 finals : 20 minutes Big final : 30 minutes
Wenn a heat or final is ended the competition-committee will call “RACE OVER” and the drivers will have to drive their car into the pits on the right side. Then they have to put out the cars and transmitters. The transmitters have to be located on the transmitter-place and the drivers have to take their places on the circuit for course-marshalling.
De qualification heats will started by a so called flying start. The competition-committee will announce when the computer (heat) will get started.
The finals will get started on the grid. There is NO driving on the circuit allowed before the race starts! Only on the Great Final a delay of the start can be asked. When a driver in the final asks for delay of the start and this is autorised by the competition-committee, the driver must start on the last place of the grid.
During the races the drivers will be informed about their classification (and numbers of rounds during the heats). Points-system ORCD-competition
Drivers behavior. Every driver is intend to act by the rules that concerns the Off-Road racing. When a driver is driving irresponsably, the competition-committee will give a stop-and-go-penalty of 10 seconds by the first time. The second time this will be 20 seconds and on the third time disqualification follows. Calling names, cursing and indecent behavior on the drivers-place will also be penaltied by a stop-and-go of 10 seconds - first time, 20 seconds – second time, disqualification on the third time. When two drivers disagree with eachothers driving, this can be told to the competition-committee. The committee can (if necessary together with the board of ORCD) come to a statement/penalty. Drivers will not fight out disagreements personally. If so, both party’s will be disqualified and removed from te competition-place.
Course-marshalling. At Heat 1 the drivers of the last heat will be course-marshalling. At Heat 2 the drivers of Heat 1, etc., etc. At the finals course-marshalling will take place in accordance with the competition-committee. They will announce the names of the marshalls. The marshalls have to be at least 30 seconds before a race begins taken their places. When a driver is NOT marshalling, 50 points will be deduct of the ending result! A marshall should at least be 16 years old. When a driver is younger they need to take care of a own replacement and inform the competition-committee about that. Marshalling has to been done for a full 100% without preferencing particulary cars. Marshalls can be punished by stop-and-go-penalty for preferencing or disbehavior(10, 20 seconds and disqualification). By replacing marshalling the penalty will be for the driver who was replaced. Marshalls have to stay on their places during the race and have to replace a car on he course or restart a car on the spot. Other repairs are not allowed to be taken place by a marshall. Only assistants of a driver or the driver are allowed to bring a car back to the pits/drivers-quarters. Repairs of a car can only take place in the pits or at the drivers-quarters, not on or alongside the circuit.
Fill up tanks. Fill up tanks is allowed untill the moment the cars are being called to the start (30 seconds signal). Iff there will be filled up a tank after the 30 seconds signal has been called, the car has to be started in the pits. During a heat / final it is not allowed to fill up.
Engines. During one competition a driver is allowed to use two engines maximum. These engines can be marked before the competition starts. It is not allowed to race with more than 1 car in the competition. The car that has been used by the first race, is the care thas has to be raced with during the competition.
Killer switch. The killer switch has to be good functioning. It has to be placed on a good accessibble an visible place.
Transmitters. A so called Spectrum Transmitter on 2.4 Ghz is allowed. Antennas of transmitters are not allowed to be prolonged (by cords) or shortened.
Frequencies. Every driver has to list 2 frequencies at the registration for the competition. When a driver uses an other frequency in his car during the competition than listed, the driver will be excluded of the race. A personal transponder is required.
Penalties. When a car is driven outside the course, the driver has to drive the car on the same place on the course or before that place. Next penalties can be called out by the competition-committee:
Stop-and-go-penalty Stop-and-go-penalty 10 seconds – first penalty Stop-and-go-penalty 20 seconds – second penalty Disqualification – third penalty
For : - cutting curves - block other drivers - calling names, cursing and indecent behavior on the drivers-place - driving irresponsably (safety marshalls)
A stop-and-go-penalty means: Driving into the pits when the competition-committee asks for, place the car on the marked spot and not leaving this place untill the competition-committee allows to. During the stop-and-go-penalty the car is not allowed to be touched. Repairs can only take place after the stop-and-go.
50 points deduction When a driver is NOT marshalling, 50 points will be deduct of the ending result! On races without points (like WES Cup) the penalty is deduction of the best qualification result!
10 seconds deduction When a driver drives his car in the wrong side of the pits, a deduction of 10 seconds of the best result will take place.
Noice. The noice of the car is not allowed above 85 dBa, measured on a distance of 25 mtr. and 1 mtr. height.
Fuels. The used fuel is allowed to excist of: - unleaded fuel - oils Forbidden are all other (special) fuels like : avgas, octane booster en racing fuels.
Transmission. Cars with electrical transmission, propeller and/or rocket transmission are not allowed. A gear-box is not allowed too. Only 2-wd rear transmission is allowed.
Clutch/Brakes. De modelcar has to be equiped with a efficient clutch and at least one good working brake. ABS is not allowed and also the so called gyro is not allowed.
Body/Bumper/Spoiler. Body, bumper and spoiler has to be of soft and flexible material. The bumper is not allowed to be wider than the car itself.
Tyres. Only the so called Off-Road tyres are allowed with clear visible and noticeable nobs. Not allowed are the so called rilled tyres.
Engine specification. Enginetype: 1 cylinder 2-stroke (cylinder with one single housing). Cylinder: Maximum 26cc. Crankshaft: Shared shaft construction with a closed big-end. Admission: Only open deck admission ports allowed, no rotating admission. Carburetter: Maximum drain 13 mm, equiped with fail-save. Ignition: Mechanical and definitely (only adjustable with turned off motor). No battery feeded ignition. Cooling: Only air cooled allowed. Engine restrictions : No turbo or compressor. No variable in- or exhaust timing. No fuel-injection and no unstabled engines.
Measures and weight Large Scale 1:6. Spoiler : Maximum 300 x 140 mm. Hight: Maximum 360 mm. with pressed springs. Hangover: Maximum 150 mm. from centre rear axle. Length car: Minimal 600 mm. Maximum 820 mm. Width car: Maximum 480 mm. with pressed springs. Weight: Minimal 8 kg. Tank: Maximum 700cc.
Risk. Participation of drivers to any event organised by ORCD is fully for their own personally risks. The board of ORCD can not taken responsible for any damage, missing goods or bodily injuries.
If there are any remarks or complaints on a competition-day, please inform the competition-committee calmly and discus it with them. Don’t spread negative rumours around without discussing it first, that is no promotion for the RC model racing!
Of each driver is expected to know the rules and act like it. In cases where the rules are not anticipated, the competition-committee will decide.
